This project was set by the design school Make It In Design as part of their '2021 Winter School'. With trend forecasting from Porter & Brawn, I was set the brief of  'Quiet Shadows' and the theme of flora studying it in both delicacy and drama through silhouettes. Pulling inspiration from the traditional Japanese flower art arranging - Ikebana, I worked by creating paintings using watercolour of first hand references gathered from my garden and exploring the use of shadow casting to create these more elongated and abstract leaf patterns.
These designs are subtle and sophisticated and would work perfectly for packaging such as perfume or gift wraps, perhaps even wallpapers and home décor.
